About the Course

Magic is an art form that can cut across barriers, astonish, delight, and entertain people of all ages. Seniors who perform magic for their families can impress their grandchildren and create memorable shared experiences. Practising Magic tricks can help seniors maintain and improve their manual dexterity, keep their minds active, and improve their memory. This course will teach the skills required to perform entertaining and astonishing magic, which includes sleight of hand, presentation, and engagement skills. The course will also cover how to practice effectively and how to continue self-directed learning of magic tricks.

Learning Objectives

After taking this workshop learners will be able to:
• Outline the General Theory of How Magic Tricks Work and the difference between Method and Effect
• Explain how 3 different magic tricks work
• Demonstrate 3 different magic tricks in a way which is technically proficient and fooling
• Present interesting and engaging magic tricks to family and grandchildren
