CHALLENGE


STADA was tasked to create a leadership development programme that would play a key role in the development and succession planning strategy of the world's largest manufacturer and marketer of weighing instruments for use in laboratory, industrial and food retailing, METTLER-TOLEDO.

SOLUTION


Targeted at high potential managers and business unit leaders, the one year Management Development Program (MDP) comprises three modules adapted from:Kouses and Posner Leadership Challenge on Self-Leadership (awareness and feedback) Beckhards Team Effectiveness Model on Team Leadership (team climate) the Experiential Learning Model on Organisational Leadership (culture)Senior managers coached and mentored teams with Leadership Practices Inventory feedback. The programme is strongly motivational which ties in with the company’s high-performance culture.

 

RESULT


A group of almost 50 managers from all over the world attended the 2-week programme over two different quarters. Its success can be attributed to unique characteristics such as challenging physical, mental and psychological experiential activities to stretch and bring out leadership qualities, comprehensive 360 degree feedback and monitored behaviour improvement reports.
